Why It Matters
This event (formerly known as Better Block) has a proven track record of influencing real change in North Charleston:
The transfer of Reynolds Avenue to city ownership, making safer pedestrian and bike transportation and creative streetscapes closer to reality.
The purchase of a nearby parking lot by the City of North Charleston, improving access to businesses.
Ongoing investment in resident-led development, from business incubators to youth programs.
As we look toward this year's Homecoming and years to come, this event exists to make sure community voices, culture, and history are prioritized as future mass transportation and development plans are created that will impact the community.
Be Part of the Vision
Reynolds Homecoming is both a celebration and a strategy to make sure the community shapes the policies that impact and improve the spaces where we live, work, and play. Come for the fun, and leave knowing you’ve added your voice to the future of Reynolds Avenue.
